(Tune: “Mary Had a Little Lamb”)
Polar bears have fur that’s white
Fur that’s white, fur that’s white
Polar bears have fur that’s white
It lets them hide from sight
Polar bears are big and strong
Big and strong, big and strong
Polar bears are big and strong
They swim the whole day long
Polar bears have lots of blubber
Lots of blubber, lots of blubber
Polar bears have lots of blubber
To keep them nice and warm
(Tune: ” Did You Ever See a Lassie?”)
Did you ever see a polar bear
A polar bear, a polar bear?
Did you ever see a polar bear
Sliding on ice?
He slips and he slides
He twirls and he glides
Did you ever see a polar bear
Sliding on ice?
Silly, slimy, sticky me (hold pointer finger out)
I’m as slow as slow can be (wiggle finger like a worm)
In my shell (make fist with other hand)
Is where I dwell (hold fist over finger)
I’m a snail (show off your snail)
And that’s my tale (point to self)
I reached into the sticky jar (pretend to reach into a jar)
To get a lick of jam (slurp)
My fingers got stuck to the lid (press fingers together)
Oh, what a mess I am! (shake head)
I pulled with a squiggle (wiggle body)
I pulled with a squirm (twist side to side)
Then POP went the lid (clap hands once)
Like a wiggly worm (wiggle fingers away)
I’m a bus driver, driving down the street (steer a big wheel)
I bounce up and down in my driver’s seat (bounce in place)
I turn to the left, I turn to the right (lean way over each way)
I hold my steering wheel nice and right (grip the wheel tight)
I see a red light and I step on the brake (stomp one foot down)
Look at the big loud noise I make (lean forward)
Screeeeeech!
(Tune: “Pop Goes the Weasel”)
I drive the bus around the town (steering wheel motion)
I stop at every corner (hold up palm like a stop sign)
My blinking lights and brakes go on (wiggle fingers like flashing)
Swish goes the door (clap hands and open outward)
Step on up and take a seat (motion to “come here”)
Wave to all your friends (wave)
The engine starts to rumble now (shake body)
Vroom goes the bus (clap and slide hands like taking off)
